—————-
In maTrigal, the roles are constantly shifting. The cello takes over the bass line, the guitar moves into melody, and the drums become more than a rhythm section — a third melodic voice. Three instruments end up sounding much larger than a trio.
Raphael Gamper, Gottfried Tadashi Forck and Maximilian Wolfgang Schwarz met while studying in Rostock, each coming from a different musical background. They found a shared language somewhere between jazz, world music, classical roots and electronics, with room for intricate rhythms, strong groove and moments when the music almost comes to a standstill.
Their debut album Between Homes was released in August, and at Prulček they will also play brand-new material — pieces that have not been recorded yet and are still finding their final shape on stage.
You can listen sitting down. Or not.
