V ciklu Urban Tribe, kjer se glasbe sveta srečajo z Ljubljano, gostimo glasbenika s Slonokoščene obale. Seydou Yoni Kouyate prihaja iz tradicije, kjer so pesem, ples in ritem osnova vsega. Kot samouk je igranje na koro (21-strunsko zahodnoafriško harfo) in tolkala izpilil na ulici, kjer je že pri štirinajstih začel svojo pot.
Njegov izraz so oblikovala potovanja čez Afriko, Evropo in Latinsko Ameriko. Rezultat je glasba, ki prehaja med umirjenimi melodijami in močnim ritmom – zvok, ki je hkrati starodaven in sodoben.

For this edition of the Urban Tribe cycle, where global sounds meet Ljubljana, we host a multi-instrumentalist from Ivory Coast. Seydou Yoni Kouyate comes from a lineage where song, dance and rhythm are a way of life. A self-taught musician, he mastered the kora (a 21-string West African harp) and percussion on the streets, starting his journey at just fourteen.
His style was shaped by travels across Africa, Europe and Latin America. The result is music that shifts between calm melodies and heavy rhythms—a sound that feels both ancient and contemporary.
